Installing "Windows SteadyState" on Win7 RC OS
Seems as though "Windows SteadyState 2.5" Installation Wizard does not recognize Win7 RC as being a viable OS. Cannot install. Error returns:!"Windows SteadyState requires Windows XP SP2 or higher, or Windows Vista." Did not try Compatibility Mode, as the Bits are supposed to be Vista (Win7) Compatible and Win7 RC is the only OS on this partition. This may be a bug, in that the installer is looking for "Vista", but seeing "Win7 RC" as the OS... even though "Win7 RC is Vista".Anyone else have success with install?Thanks.--

I haven't tried to install Steady State yet, but given the error message you're recieving and the depth of integration steady state needs to be able to reset a Windows machine to a preconfigured state I would guess that it's not going to work until steady state is updates for Windows 7.Daniel Nerenberg MCT MCSE MCITP MCTS MVP

Hi Domestic Windows SteadyState is not compatible with Windows 7. In the original W7 Beta Build 7000, there was a utility called PC Safeguard that was described aseventually replacing SteadyState, this compopnent was changed to the Guest Mode and then removed altogether in the Release Candidate.Hope this helps.Thank You for testing Windows 7 Ronnie Vernon MVP

Hello, Ronnie!Thank you for your prompt reply. Yes, you have been most helpful. If I may ask, are you aware of any plans to make WSS compliant for testing against Win7 platform before it goes RTM?Thanks again.-- Don WLB
